About the app

Who built this?

A father and son. The father is a lifelong drummer and a physician of nearly twenty years; the son is a drummer with ADHD who started playing at age three and never stopped. They built the tool they wish had existed.

Is this therapy or treatment?

No. Beatwired is a practice tool, not a medical treatment. It doesn’t replace medication, therapy, or your clinician. We’ll never claim it does. See The Science for exactly what the research shows.

Do I need to know how to play drums?

No. Most Beatwired users have never held sticks. The app assumes nothing.

I have ADHD and I quit things. Why would this be different?

It might not be, and the app is built for exactly that. Sessions run about ten minutes, with an honest way out near the halfway mark. Breaks in your streak get “You’re back,” never a guilt trip. Quitting and returning is the expected pattern, not a failure.

Gear & setup

What do I actually hit?

Tier 0: your hands on thighs, a tabletop, or a pillow. Free. Tier 1: a practice pad and sticks, about $32, recommended. Tier 2: your own kit with headphones.

Is this for kids?

The app is designed for teens and adults. Parents using it alongside younger children: the gear guide and patterns work at any age, and we recommend talking with your child’s clinician about rhythm practice.

Pricing

What does it cost?

Free forever: the check-in, session timer, metronome, three starter patterns, streaks and minutes. Pro: $49.99/year (or $7.99/month) after a 7-day trial. The full eighteen-pattern library, complete progress history, and everything we add next. No ads, ever.

Trust & privacy

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. Your sessions, streaks, and check-ins stay on your device. No account required to practice.
